Mission 403 visited Hillsborough, Faith Christian Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy on Sunday, September 20th! Once again we had our three fellow musicians travel with us- PJ Dublin, Isaiah Mack, and Taquiceya Johnson. However, for this church visit we also had our eight-year old nephew, Carter, join us to see what his aunt and uncle would be doing in Paraguay. Faith Christian Fellowship, along with its Pastor Ronnie Bradford, was a great experience with the entire congregation once again amazing us with their enthusiastic support and encouraging words.
The people gave and Pastor Bradford treated our entire gang to a great Sunday lunch! I can’t say enough about this “mission minded” church. They support several works throughout the globe and they always are looking for more ways to get involved and to serve. I applaud them for their generosity and sweet spirit towards outreach ministries. Many churches are just content to stay within their own four walls, but Faith Christian Fellowship knows how important it is to go outside the comfort zone and reach people. A lot of times we won’t find the lost, hurting, and lonely sitting among us within the church pews. Jesus did not stay only within the synagogues to preach, but he went out into the masses to seek those society deemed unworthy. If only every church would rise up and truly follow Christ’s example, I wonder how much better our world would be?
As said before, on this trip we had Stephen and mine’s nephew, Carter tag along with us to visit Faith Christian Fellowship COGOP. Uncle Stephen is a very important figure to Carter, and the move to Paraguay is going to be a big adjustment for him. So, we thought it would be good for him to see and hear just exactly the kind of work we’ll be doing in Paraguay to perhaps help him cope with the separation. There’s a lot of excitement going-on right now with the upcoming move on November 9th and all the things we must do to prepare, but there is also a sadness in leaving our family and friends behind. Instead of being able to travel by car to visit, we must now journey a day by plane if we want to come back. This is going to be a big adjustment for everyone and there may be a few tears in the process. However, our families know why we are moving to Paraguay. It’s not about us, but there is a greater purpose to all of this. With lots of love, understanding, and prayers we will be successful in our endeavors in Paraguay and Mission 403 we hope will change many lives.
