On October 18, 2015, Mission 403 visited Falcon Church of God of Prophecy in Godwin, NC. This church is currently pastored by Samuel Hall, and he and his wife gave us a great welcome to their church with a pot-luck fundraiser dinner to follow. I really enjoyed spending time with some of the church members in Sunday School, where we all took part in a fruitful discussion about ministry and how we could be effective in outreach. Everyone was really excited for Mission 403 to be at Falcon COGOP because currently this church does not have any musicians. I believe they tuned the piano especially for our visit for it played wonderfully. I even think there was a kidnapping planned for Isaiah Mack, the keyboardist whose been traveling around with us. Stephen and I are praying that the Lord will bless this church with new members who are musicians. They have blessed us in faith, so I know that God will direct the people they need to fill their sanctuary with music.
Going to Falcon COGOP was also very special to me because I got the chance to visit Pastor Emeritus Thomas Wrench who was on a mission team with me to Peru in 2006. Pastor Wrench and I bonded on this trip when he needed to call his wife in the United States and I let him use my international calling card to do so. I have several fond memories of Pastor Thomas and that trip to Peru because it was a turning point in my life. This was the time when I first met Dan Miller and he invited me to come to Paraguay where I would later meet my husband Stephen. I remember when our boat stalled on the Amazon River and for just a minute I thought that we might be stuck in the middle of the jungle! I was only 18 years old at the time, but at such a young age God was directing my path for a greater purpose. I am so glad that Mission 403 was allowed to visit Falcon Church of God of Prophecy. I am happy that I got to see Pastor Thomas again and meet his son Kelly. I am excited to have made a new friend in Pastor Samuel Hall and I hope that he will allow us to visit again when we come back in two years. I think that Mission 403 will have a long future with Falcon COGOP and I am looking forward to what is to come.
